The National Weather Service Buffalo issued an update today with snowfall totals from all over the 716. Weather officials expected there to be at least 3 feet of snow on the ground in Buffalo and surrounding areas. This all is related to the serious amount of snow that has fallen since the storm started. Nearly all businesses remain closed as well due to the inability to get just about anywhere. In addition to roads being in horrible shape, the Buffalo Aiport, along with Metro Bus & Metro Rail services were also suspended and have yet to be restored. Travel around the area has been impossible as many roads are simply impassable, which also caused emergency services to not be able to respond to calls for help with nearly 66% of their vehicles stuck in the snow. The weather truly left its mark on the Buffalo area with strong winds, whiteout conditions, below-freezing temperatures, and sub-zero windchill which knocked out power to thousands around the area and left the entire region paralyzed. Almost the entire American midwest and northeast have been hit hard by the winter weather that started on Friday, December 23, 2022. ![]()
